Haley of Appoggiatura brings us a swoon-worthy Cinnamon Raisin Walnut Bread ~ be warned: don't click through to this site unless you plan on making bread sometime soon . . . it's that good-looking.
Betherann of Kitchen Courage brings us adorable looking (and sounding) Huckleberry Muffins! If you've never had the pleasure of meeting huckleberries before, don't waste another minute. And if you have a few extra minutes, read through some of Betherann's other recent posts . . . anyone who can make food that healthy look so darn good deserves a medal!
Okay, bacon fans . . . Judy of No Fear Entertaining has got your back! Her Corn Bread for the BBA challenge is graced with a layer of crumbled bacon, and while that is really all the prelude this post needs (Skillet corn bread with bacon, people!), I will say that Judy never fails to disappoint with real-life, totally relatable play-by-plays of her baking exploits. And as if that weren't enough . . . check out Judy's gorgeous Cinnamon Raisin Walnut Bread and Cinnamon Rolls, both from BBA group challenges (how I wish this monitor could do scratch and sniff!).
Chrystal and Amir of The Duo Dishes tempts us with not one but two delectable samples of oven love: one sweet, Amaretto Cranberry Bars with Orange Glaze (do yourself a favor and go here. Now.) and one savory, Rosemary Parmesan Shortbread (which have just leaped to the top of my to-bake list).
Di, of Di's Kitchen Notebook, has been a busy baker too ~ lucky for us! You must (must, I tell you!) go check out her Brioche Coffee Cake Ring (for the BBA challenge) ~ it's just bakery-perfect looking and evidence of some pretty creative kitchen work. And as if that weren't enough, she whipped up a very munchable casatiello (also a BBA challenge recipe). Go hungry but be prepared to bake!
Laura of Real Good Food made some Baguettes from the ABin5 formula to put her summer tomatoes on! They're so beautiful; if you're not already growing tomatoes, you may wish you were, just so you could have something worthy of home-baked baguettes like these babies!
Frieda of Loving from the Oven made English Muffins! They look perfect ~ loaded with those all-important nooks and crannies. Nicely done, Frieda ~ a perfect example of why baking your own is so addictive!!
Shirley of Plum Bush Cottage made great use of the ABin5 formula to create a delicious-looking Focaccia with Rosemary and Onions. What a fragrant sidekick to serve with salads, soups, or a cheese plate!
As for me . . .
It's been a hot week here and in lots of other places, and we keep baking on! In New York, we're at the height of our best (in my opinion) fruit season, with peaches, blueberries, nectarines, strawberries, and loads of other fruits all in season at once. So much to bake, so little oven space!
I do hope you're enjoying your summer (or winter, if you're on that side of the earth) and all that grows with it. Bake on!
